Arkadium Launches Two New Crossword Games From Newsday’s Crossword Editor, Stan Newman

New York – March 8, 2021 – Online gaming company Arkadium (www.arkadium.com) today announced the launch of two new crossword games from Newsday’s legendary crossword editor, Stanley Newman. The new games, Stan Newman’s Sunday Crossword and Stan Newman’s Daily Crossword, are the most recent additions to Arkadium’s growing library of premium online puzzles.

Stan Newman’s Sunday Crossword features the largest crossword puzzles in Arkadium history. With 21×21 grids, the game delivers even more brain-training fun to puzzlers of every skill level. There will be two new Sunday Crosswords released each week on Saturday and Sunday, for which Newman will be updating his classic archives. In addition, Stan Newman’s Daily Crossword will be the same brand-new themed puzzle that appears every day in the Long Island, New York, newspaper Newsday. Each week, the crosswords gradually increase in difficulty, from the gentle Monday puzzle through the extremely challenging Themeless Saturday puzzle, to the medium-difficulty but larger Sunday puzzle.

“Preparing these crosswords for puzzlers everywhere has always been a joy, and I’m thrilled to share Newsday’s current and archived Sunday crosswords with Arkadium’s puzzlers around the world,” said Newman. “The game handles the Sunday-size puzzles very nicely, and I’m sure crossword fans will get a kick out of solving Arkadium’s first large-format crosswords.”

Stanley Newman has been the Newsday Crossword Editor since 1988 and is a protégé of Will Shortz, the renowned puzzle editor of the New York Times. In his 33-year crossword career, Newman has authored or edited more than 200 books, of crosswords, word games and trivia, plus the best-selling “Million Word Crossword Dictionary.”
